Added 9/10/10: Well a new year has once again begun and it has been quite a success.  After a PACKED first show, we had an unusually high attendance rate for workshops and auditions.  So much talent!  We called back 13 and are pleased to announce our newest members of I.T.! Find them on campus, smile, love them, and say "Hey!"

Parents Weekend is just around the corner and we're excited to unveil our newbies to the world, or at least their parents! Stay tuned for the shenanigans that will undoubtedly ensue this year!

Added 5/3/09: The first entry of the new year is the last entry of the the semester/school year. This spring...we had some great shows, did some wonderful workshops with Bruton School of the Arts, Lord Fairfax Community College, and South County High School. We just said goodbye to our seniors this past week and they will be dearly missed in the year(s) to come, though we wish them the best of luck in their endeavors. Also, Andrew Whitmire, Aron Baum, and Mike Wilbur may be seen over the summer at Comedy Sportz of D.C. Goodie, goodie, gumdrops! One more place for them to perform for no money!

Added 12/21/08: Well, it's been a solid 2 months since we last added a news item...so...semester recap! We got 5 newbies and love them. Fall Tour was just peachy. Our various shows were enjoyable and audience pleasers. We won the costume contest at Gamma Phi's Moonball. We played new I.T. games at shows to mix it up for our regular audience members as well as ourselves. Our Final Show was a hit. We have a new logo. Other stuff. Here's looking at you, 2008.

Added 10/14/08: I.T. returns to Williamsburg from Boston after the
Regional Finals for the 2008 Collegiate Improv Tournament having vanquished in a split decision in the semi-finals. They are seriously bent out of shape. They would, however, like to congratulate the University of Florida's Theater Strike Force on an epic performance. The rest of the trip was fruitful and fun-filled and fruit-filled and funful! Something like that. Stay tuned! (No one reads this.)

Added Spring 2008: I.T. had a very busy Spring. Yes, very busy indeed. Performing at Sweetbriar College and The Kimball Theatre, they proved a treat to all those in attendance…or at least themselves! Also, annual workshops at Bruton High School, Jamestown High School, and Lord Fairfax Community College went off without a hitch and I.T. enjoyed, as always, sharing its knowledge and love of improv with students of all ages. Abigail was in England…or Europe somewhere.

Added 2/20/2007: If you want to see I.T. in a... different domain, check out their acting in W&M's first official sexual assault website. Yeah, you know you're interested by that!
Sexual Assault Website!

Added 2/14/2007: Happy Valentine's Day! I.T. just wrapped up its second day of workshops with the students of nearby Bruton High and we just wanted to say the kids were fantastic! Well done Bruton, hope to work with you next year!

Added 2/10/2007: A belated shout-out to our partners in improv, Princeton's own Quipfire improv troupe. They put on a great show and were awesome guests! We hope to learn and love with them in the future!

Added 1/10/2007:I did a couple solo, pro-bono workshops with the improv team at my old high school and they went really well! A reminder to all the high schools that I.T. visits that our big upcoming shows will be at the Kimball Theater March 30 and our charity event Improvathon March 14th!

Added 11/30/2006: I.T. has another Flat Hat "That Guy!" and it's Sam Bandstra! He is very excited about this.

Added 10/25/2006: I.T. has returned from its annual Fall Tour to Chicago and what a trip it was! Special thanks to Joey, Martin, and Greg- our invaluable and grossly underpaid workshop instructors. Also
thanks to Brian and Patrick for letting us crash on their floor. Chicago offered us some great weather, good times, and good improv including Patrick's first official Chicago performance (which most of us missed, indeed I wound up by myself at some bar in Wrigleyville, but that's another story...) All in all, a great success!

Added 9/30/2006: I.T. is very excited to welcome its newest members- Emily Rossi and Mike Wilbur. We had an outstanding group audition this year and hope that everyone had as much fun with auditions and workshops as us. Our new members will be formally introduced at the Family Weekend show, and will be showing up on stage in the near future. Look forward to it!

Added 8/5/2006: Once in a while, IT even makes it into some local news without having caused any property damages! In the words of Kimball Theatre production manager Todd Cooke:

"The William and Mary Improvisational Theatre has been one of the most interesting and fun groups to work with. They usually show up with video clips burned to DVD's [sic] and recorded on VHS tapes. The challenge with their show is, even they are not sure of the route their show will take we have to be prepared for any clip at any time. It makes for a crazy night, but the atmosphere in their performance is unmatched."

Wow, thanks Todd! Folks can read the whole article about the Kimball Theatre here:

Added 8/5/2006: This little artifact was recently unearthed by IT alum Kevin Flanagan. IT alum Noah Foreman and Kevin Kilroy are caught in the act during a performance at Wintergreen ski resort. Legend has it that though IT received no monetary reward for this show, IT was promised other kickbacks. This has never been confirmed. But here's the link (scroll to the bottom of the page to see IT!):

Added 8/5/2006: Over the years, certain IT members have been chosen to be interiewed by the college paper (The Flat Hat) in their weekly "That Guy/Girl" feature. I've done a little scrounging in the old Flat Hat archives and have come up with some hits.

Zack Pennington is that guy!
Adam Stackhouse is that guy!
Greg Hess is that guy!
Kelly Muccio is that girl!
Robert Godfrey is that guy!
